Hi, everybody. How was this weekend? Did you enjoy?
I enjoyed this weekend. Especially today, I had good time with my host father.
We went to shopping mall today, because I really wanted to buy Japanese foodstuff.
There were many kinds of Asian food. As today was Chinese New Year’s Day, there were many Chinese people. I could find many Chinese foodstuff for New Year meals,
for example, big crabs, big shrimps, and several kinds of seafood. My host father and I were interested in the seafood and touched them without asking. However, clerks of the shop didn’t care about us. We enjoyed watching these things and touching them. haha
After that, I bought many Japanese foodstuff, some fruits and skim milk. What I was surprised was the price. I couldn’t believe it. It was 50$.I forgot that Japanese food was foreign food here, and I bought many stuff without seeing the price. If I were in Japan, I could buy same things with half price. After I finished shopping, we went to coffee shop and talked for two hours. Topic was marriage. It was interesting for me. I knew the truth that I’ve not noticed. My host parents didn’t marry. It may not be raised as the matter here, but it was amazing thing for me. They have 5 children and they have lived together for 30 years. Why didn’t they get married? It was strange! How have they kept relationships? According to my host father, he and host mother are good friends still now. They don’t tide each other. My host mother went to Africa for two months as volunteer. Why could she do that? The reason is easy. They are friends. While she stayed there, host father did all house work by himself. He also does house work everyday as my host mother does. They share the cost of living. Both are working and pay the half cost, so they have same positions in their house. My host parents are not same as Japanese couples. In Japan, many women who get married don’t work. It is evidence that they get married with a good husband. It is still believed by many people; however, it is a little old opinion. They don’t need to work. It is easy to live for women, but they don’t have power in their house. They always do house work for their husband. When they need money, they ask their husband. I don’t like the situation. I can work. I want to use money freely without asking. That’s why I agree with my host parents finally, and my thought changed. I noticed that we can make family without marriage. I know it is sometimes hard to keep. However, we can do similar thing like my host parents. What is the most important thing for doing like my host parents is making promise with partners before marriage. So…..I should find a guy who agrees with my opinion. It may be difficult.
Every body, what do you think about this opinion?

Happy weekend
Hi, everyone. How was your weekend? In my case, I enjoyed it. On Friday, I went to birthday party of a Korean friend. We enjoyed drinking and billiards. I just watched the game, because I couldn’t play billiards. What the most interesting thing was the accident. hahaha… It was happened in washroom. When I went to washroom with Paola, there were already flooded. Oh my god!! To make matters worse, I used the broken one! I didn’t realize it was broken. So……..You can imagine. After I pulled the lever, something happened, and I had to get out from the bathroom quickly! I yelled with Paola and ran out. We cared about our things not to fall down on the floor. It was a bad accident, but it made us fun. Sometimes, accidents make us fun. If there are no accidents in our life, we may feel boring everyday.
On Saturday, I went to hockey game. I’ve never seen the game, so I was excited. Many players crashed the rink sharply, and they readied to fight each other. I’ve never seen such dangerous game. The game passed so fast. I couldn’t follow the movement. I was amazed that many yueli students felt boring because the players didn’t fight. There were many kids, and they sometime called “Fighting! Fighting! Fighting! ”. They were cute but what they said wasn’t cute. After the game, I went to Mexican restaurant with many yueli students. It was the picture. I ate tacos with Paola. I followed her and I learned how to eat the food. It was very nice! I really liked it. Unfortunately, according to Paola, it was not real Mexican food. We can’t eat real food from other countries here except Korean and Chinese. You know, there are no real Japanese restaurants here because almost all owners are Korean. I miss Japanese food. I ate ramen yesterday. Ramen is very popular food in Japan, so I expected it would be nice! However, the taste was horrible! It was totally different from Japanese ramen. After I ate it, I felt bad.
Oh!!I wanna tell you about our discovery! When Paola and I were waiting for our bus, we found a nice phrase accidentally. When I said “cold” in Spanish and in Japanese by connecting, it means “ very cold!” in Spanish. Wow~ amazing! When I said it, Paola was excited. She misunderstood I got Spanish meaning naturally, but it’s not true.jajaja
We liked the phrase.
☆ My conversation session
I joined in a conversation session in this week with two Korean girls. They are my friends, so I could enjoy the session. The conversation partner was Henry. We talked about our fashion. However he is man, he knew many shops and brands. He is a clerk of cloth shop. The shop name was Banana…..I forgot. It’s OK. I don’t care about bland if I like the cloth even if it don’t have brand name, I buy it .He said he has a lot of cloths like girls and his mother doesn’t like this point.

Weekend
I went to party held in Mo’s house on Friday night. Yeah~!! There were many Mo’s friends. I met many Yueli students who I’d never met. They were dancing there, but I didn’t dance. I enjoyed talking with my friends. I got little drunk the night. Wow~ I really enjoyed the party. By talking with other people, I learned new things that I’d never known. Party is a chance to make friends and to know a lot of things.
I went to Niagara falls on this weekend. I planed to go there with Paola, but she missed the bus, and she couldn’t come. I was so sorry to here that. I missed her, but I enjoyed the trip with other friends. We rid on the bus for 1 and half hours. Firstly, we rid on two busses taking part, but suddenly we couldn’t use one of them. I didn’t know why. We should use another bus together. There were too many people. Some people used one seat for 3 people. I needed sleep, because I drunk and I couldn’t sleep well the day before yesterday night .Of all days to ride on such clouded bus!! I was unlucky. I couldn’t sleep absolutely. Let’s forget about the bus. Niagara falls were really huge, but it looked dirty. Oh~ my god!! However, I took a lot of pictures.haha I had totally forgotten about the falls. I heard that Niagara falls were between Canada and America and we can see both flags of these countries from Romain. It was interesting, but I didn’t take pictures of the flags. I will take many pictures in this summer. It must be beautiful. We enjoyed making snow balls and throw it to other students. It looked funny. After making snow balls, my hands were frozen. Min Soo, Mariko and Shogi dived in the snow!!! They were crazy!!
After Niagara falls, we went to casino. I lost 10$ easily by playing black jack. Min Soo and Shogi looked really enjoy casino because they won money. At first, I enjoyed watching them winning money, but 1 hour later, I lost interest in casino and I went to Tim Horton to drink café mocha and walked around the casino alone. haha When I backed the table Min Soo and Shogi played, Min Soo had money which was 7 times of his first money. Maybe…It was amazing! I thought he drunk all night.
By the way the trip was too long. I stayed there about 7 hours. I was really tired but I didn’t sleep in the bus to go home. I talked with Shogi for 1and half hours in Japanese. I could speak really fast. What easy Japanese is!! I wish I could speak English like Japanese!!
I went conversation session on this Friday and talked with Kamilla. I asked her about York University club. I want to join in dance club. I need exercise!! She said that she didn’t know about dance club well, so she will look for dance clubs for me. She was very kind. I’m waiting for her reply.
ROM
☆ About ROM
I went to ROM on Friday. At the first time, I planed to go there by myself, because Paola went to home because of her cold. First, I met Jinny and asked her how to go there. She told me the way kindly. After that, I met Henry. You know, he is a conversation partner. He said “Do you know the way to go to ROM?” ”Yes, I know. I am going to take subway and get off at the Museum station” I answered. ”No!! It is wrong. You should get off St George station” He said. Then, I was confused!! I thought Jinny was right because she went there last Friday. Henry and I met Min Soo and Mariko then. Fortunately, they are going to go to ROM too, so we quit the talk about how to go there, because Min Soo and Mariko knew the way and they were used to go there. Henry trusted them. Thanks to their help I could go there easily. Eventually, Jinny was right. Henry might be tired. It’s OK. People sometimes make mistakes. I know he is nice. I had a problem, but I had a good time. We (except Min Soo) enjoyed talking in Japanese, so he looked angry. I felt sorry about that, but I needed the time to talk in Japanese to my stress out. I’m sorry Min Soo! In the museum, we saw a lot of exhibitions. There were also many Asian exhibitions. I found an exhibition that I was interested in the most from Japan. I’ve never seen it in Japan. The name is Inrou. It is like a pouch. People in the EDO period used it to carry powder medicines and tobaccos. They had three spaces to put in medicines. Every Inrou also had a lope with catch that was a big bead made of wood. It plays an important roll to fasten the lid and to hook them to peoples OBI.OBI is like a belt of KIMONO. I heard about Inrou from a guide of ROM. She brought us real Inrou, showed us and explained how to use it. It was very interesting! There were three kinds of Inrou. One of them was made of bamboo. Others were made of lacquer. I liked black lacquer Inrou the best. It was beautiful and looked gorgeous. One of Canadian attendance saw the bamboo Inrou and said “It’s like a bone” It’s surly like a bone, but you will notice that it is bamboo if you see carefully. I thought Inrou was for high-class people, because normal people couldn’t buy expansive things such as medicine and tobacco. Inrou might be expensive in that period. I enjoyed the museum except some booths. There were many exhibitions that people feel sick if they see. For example, snakes, insects, mouse, and so on. Min Soo doesn’t like mouse. When I heard the reason from Mariko, I felt nauseated. If you want to know the reason, try to ask him. Some people may not feel sick if they had experience to eat mouse…..NO~!!
